Hiking Timp!

In July, I went with the youth on a Timp hike. We started around 3:00 at Timpanooke. I was VERY apprehensive about this hike because 1. I'm not a hiker 2. I kept hearing horror stories about the last time they did this hike. (12 hours!) Turns out it was pretty fun! I ended up staying with a new 12 year old YW and she set a pretty slow pace. We had a few others join our slow pace and we had a fun time. We hiked about 3 hours up. We got right past the rock slide area (if that means anything to anyone) got a picture and then headed down. It took us about 2 hours to get down. I was very glad to be slathered with bug spray- they were pretty pesky when we rested. We had walkie-talkies spread throughout the group and it was a good way to keep track of everyone. One group even made it to the top in that same amount of time! One thing about hiking, it's very pretty!
