Omaha Adventure

What to do if your wife is going to be gone to girls camp for a week? I know! Load up three girls in the minivan and travel to Omaha for a week of fun! (Yes, I was crazy!!) So, on Monday, Aug 2, we all loaded up and left about 7:30 pm. I drove all night long. I actually had planned to stop and take a nap or two along the way, however, every time I stopped, the girls would wake up. So I just kept on driving.
Here we are ready to leave home!

Eden was good in the car! All of them were really good in the car. Of course it didn't hurt that they slept most of the way!

A Nebraska sunrise. Ahh so beautiful!

We made it to Omaha about noon on Tuesday. We got to our Hotel and then went to visit Bev. We all slept great that night! We stayed in an Econo Lodge. It was a cheap hotel, but had comfortable beds. It also had a pool. We went swimming a couple of times.

Ella and Emily were well worn out and slept so cutely at the hotel!

On Wednesday I mostly hung out with Bev's family. Emily and Nichole hit it off big time. Ella was included in the fun. Joanna loved playing with Eden.

Hanging out, dressing up, having fun!

On Thursday, we went to the Winter Quarters visitors center. The girls enjoyed it and they really make it fun there.

Well, if the van broke down, we could always have come back by hand cart!

Friday was Zoo day, it had been really hot and humid the whole time we had been there. Friday turned out to be the best day of the week. We slept in a little too much and got to the zoo a little later than we had intended. The girls loved it there. We only got to see about 1/3 of the zoo. We started at 10 am and went to about 5 pm. The girls were so worn out. They loved the train and the sky lift. Ella got lost after lunch. We went to a worker and they put out the word to look for her. She was found after a couple of minutes. She got a cup from the workers and was more careful to stay close after that!

We left Saturday about 3 pm. We had fun in the car until the girls fell asleep. We reached Utah early Sunday. All of them were car sick after coming down the mountain. We got home and gave Mom lots of hugs and kisses. It took me a few days to recover from all of that. I missed two nights sleep! It was fun and we hopefully will have some fond memories of our Daddy - Daughter vacation.

What fun daddy-daughters days!! You did well and gave the girls a chance to see the other side of the family. Glad you posted the pictures!

Well, Steve, I'm impressed! The girls all looked like they were having a blast (and their hair was done!) I bet Emily and Ella will always remember that.

I have to give you props! I don't know if I could handle something like that. Sounds like it was fun and something they will never forget.
