Wow, two posts today. I'm relaxing in between cleaning spurts. Anyway, I thought I was getting good at saying no this summer when I was sick. Apparently not. I admit, I'm a first time mom - with a school-aged child, that is. When school started I started signing Emily up for things. Now, not only does she attend school everyday, but she goes to choir for an hour on Mondays and Drama class on Thursdays, and library time on Wednesdays. I was a little worried that I'd overscheduled her. However, she just loves every class and looks forward to them everyweek.
The problem I have now is that I think I've overscheduled myself! At the beginning of the schoolyear, I signed up to volunteer in Emily's classroom. I haven't heard anything on that yet, so we'll see how that turns out. I signed up to help with the choir and ended up being treasurer of the board. The president says it's not that much work, but we'll see. Then, when I signed her up for drama, I realized you HAVE to sign up to help in some area. I told them to pick whatever they need me to do in the next few months before the baby is born. And I just realized the other day that I had signed up to volunteer at the library last spring. I got an invitation to a meeting last night and realized I actually signed up to be in the Friends of the Library group. My doctor is the treasurer, so now I'd better help out! The meeting consisted of 8 people who'd been on it for years and years and I was probably the youngest one there by 25 years. I agreed to help out with the scary story contest and a few other things. So, now I'd better be at the point where I say no to all other volunteer opportunities. It's nice to help out, but I think maybe I should have started slower. I figure I have the baby excuse in a few months if I need to opt out of a few!
2nd problem: Ok, all you mothers out there. I need you to tell me the best way to clean a tub. So far this week I've tried regular bathroom spray, Scrubbing Bubbles, straight bleach, Magic Eraser and Soft Scrub w/bleach. I've also tried Lime Away earlier also with no results. The tub still looks the same. All those traction marks just look dirty and there's scum up the sides. Now that Steve doesn't get as dirty everyday, I figure I can clean it and keep it clean. Are there any products out there that are miracle workers for you?
Lastly, looks like Steve will get on the health insurance benefit plan earlier than expected. We've been looking over the plans and he has to turn it in today. It should start at the beginning of October, so we're excited to save about $50 a month and get dental insurance. Also, last week Steve's boss told him he wanted to have his 30 day review today and he had good news for him. I hope they actually remember to do the meeting today and that the news is good monitarily!

Oh, you are feeling better!!! I think it is great to be involved with the children's activities. Emily will thrive in all those areas. You will also learn a lot and meet good people. It is harder to meet people when you have no children in school.
We are anxious to hear about Steve! That is just great about the insurance. We hope that it is good news.
Good to hear from you again.
I found this excellent tub cleaner quite a few years ago and haven't used anything else since. In fact, I absolutely love it. It's called "Kellie."
Maybe she can give you some other tips.
FYI regarding the previous comment -- Any bets as to whether I'm sleeping on the couch tonight?
Mark sure is a smart aleck, isn't he! Good thing I have a sense of humor.
I usually use Ajax or Comet on the tub and have a good scrub sponge that I use with it. It seems to work pretty well, although lately those cleaners have added something blue in them, and the tub always ends up with a bluish tint. It still gets it pretty clean-looking, though. Hope that helps!
Kellie
I use Tilex for the mildew in my shower and it seems to work pretty well. I'll have to try Ajax on my tub. Marshall freaks if there is even a hair on the tub.
P.S. My Dad started a group on Facebook called Young Naperville Singers Alumni. We have pictures on there of us when YNS first started.
