Yesterday I decided to go purseless and just use a diaper bag from now on. So I started the daunting task of emptying my purse and stuffing it all in a diaper bag. After seeing everything I had in my purse, I was kind of wishing I could have been on the Let's Make a Deal gameshow. Remember how at the end of the show the host would walk up to random audience members and offer them $100 for every ____ they had? (Like pennies or paperclips, etc.) Here's a sampling of what I found.
2 bottles of hand sanitizer
2 sewing kits
2 bottles of lotion
3 tubes of chapstick
1 footie nylon
Nail file, wet wipe from KFC, 1 dried out wet wipe from an airline, about 100 receipts and rewards cards from various businesses, partially eaten bag of M&Ms, wrappers galore, gum, various toys I was "holding" for the girls, etc.
And I found out the real reason it felt like I was carting around rocks - I was!! There were 2 polished rocks that must have fallen out of the souvenir bag we bought for E&E on our anniversary!
Steve wondered if I'd stolen Mary Poppins handbag. We'll see how I do with my "Diapurse" as I'm calling it!

What fun! You are your mother's daughter! I was the "carrier" for everyone too. I actually don't feel right if my left arm isn't weighted down by my purse. Too late for me to try the diapurse! But on Sundays, I still manage to fill that big bag with the photos on it that you gave me. Women are bag ladies!
I'm with you! Even with a "small" purse, I can never find anything in it! It's amazing how those Mary Poppins moments come to all of us!
That's so funny. I'm sure my purse is the same way--I'm scared to look!
I have never had a purse and diaper bag. I am surprised you lasted this long. When I clean out my purse too I can't believe all the junk that is in it. Enjoy being purse less.
How creative! It sounds like my purse- it's a black hole in there and you never know what you'll find. I agree- the simpler the better.
